 Power Up 4 Learning Check Presentation Thank you Alameda Municipal Power and customers! On Monday, July 18th, the Alameda Education Foundation (AEF) gratefully accepted a check for $8,000 from Alameda Municipal Power (AMP) at the Public Utilities Meeting. The funds were made possible by the Power Up 4 Learning program, a partnership of AEF and AMP that enables AMP customers to donate a portion of their monthly power bill to AEF. Power Up 4 Learning funds support AEF Teacher Mini-Grants, which are used by teachers for science fairs, assemblies, technology, literacy and innovative classroom projects that support student success in Alameda public schools.
To participate in Power Up 4 Learning, simply fill out the Power Up 4 Learning form and mail it to AEF at PO Box 1363, Alameda, CA 94501.
 Thank you to the Harbor Bay Club for a FABulous Concert on the Green this past on Sunday, July 3rd. On a beautiful, warm day, right next to the San Francisco Bay, guests grooved to the amazing tunes of The Beatles performed by acclaimed tribute band, The Sun Kings, and enjoyed wonderful food, wine, beer and smoothies from local restaurants, vintners and breweries. All proceeds benefit music, art and drama programs in Alameda public schools. If you enjoyed yourself Sunday – or are sorry you missed out – mark your calendars for Thursday, November 10th when The Sun Kings headline All Together Now 2011 at the historic Alameda Theatre!
 Lilac Dress Boutique-Holiday Shopping Night Shoppers enjoyed checking out some of the beautiful items at Lilac Boutique’s Holiday Sale on December 2nd and 15% of the proceeds were donated to the Alameda Education Foundation. Thank you to Pilar Burlingham for making our holidays a little more festive and for supporting Alameda schools!
All Together Now was a tremendous success! We rocked the night away while raising vital support for arts in our schools! A special thank you to all our food and wine donors, our hard-working volunteers and, of course, to Drew Harrison of The Sun Kings and DJ Peter Fletcher for producing the show! Together, we did make a difference!
