Enrichment Program - Policies & Procedures/Class Registration

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Welcome to the Alameda Education Foundation 2009-2010 Enrichment Program!  We are excited once again to offer the children of our community the opportunity to enjoy a variety of fun and exciting after-school classes. Following are the policies and procedures for all participants in this program. Please take the time to familiarize yourself with these. All participants will be expected to follow these Policies & Procedures. Please read the following information. All participants will be expected to follow these guidelines.

GENERAL POLICIES & PROCEDURES

Following are the policies and procedures for all participants in this program. Please take the time to familiarize yourself with these. All participants will be expected to follow these Policies & Procedures. Please read the following information, sign the acknowledgment letter and return with your registration.

 

1)  SCHOLARSHIPS

We are proud to offer scholarships for enrichment classes.  Please contact your school’s parent volunteer coordinator for more information. Scholarships are based on need and are verified by the Administrator at each site.

2)  REFUND POLICY & PROCESSING FEE

Should you decide to cancel your child’s registration we will now impose a processing fee of  $12.00 per canceled class.  Registration cancellations must be made prior to the first day of class. Cancellations after the first day of class will not be refunded. Please allow 30 days for your refund.

 

If we cancel a class due to insufficient enrollment, no cancellation fee will be applied and a full refund will be issued.   Please allow 30 days for your refund.

3) Participants Behavior

All student participants are expected to conduct themselves according to all AUSD student rules. These rules are outlines in the Student/Parent Handbook provided by the schools each year.

 

Any student that fails to follow the student rules or has excessive behavioral issues that continually disrupt other participants, will be removed from participation from the after school enrichment class for the rest of the session. No refund will be issued for such removal.

 

4)  CLASS PRICING

Please be assured that we continually work with our class providers to keep our costs as low as possible.

5) PARENT/ADULT ESCORTS FOR CLASSES
Class Escorts are crucial to the success of our program.  Escorts are needed to stay with all students until the instructor arrives and escort to and from the Girl’s Inc./Island Kids or LEAPS daycare programs.

 

Children of parent/guardian escorts will be given priority in class placement as well as a Parent Escort Incentive. This incentive will be a credit voucher to be used in a future Enrichment class for your child If we receive more than one parent /guardian escort for the class, we will select the parent/guardian and notify you prior to the first day of class by the school volunteer coordinator.

for a 4-6 week class the Class Escort incentive=    $25.00 class voucher

for a 7-10 week class the  Class Escort incentive=  $40.00 class voucher

for an 11-24 week class the Class Escort incentive= $60.00 class voucher

Once the class is completed and you have escorted all classes, you will receive a class credit voucher towards a future class for the amount specified. Please allow 30 days for processing once class has ended. Our limit is one escort per class to both check in and check out or one escort for checking in and one for checking out.  If we do not have a parent/guardian escort for your class, we unfortunately may need to cancel the class. This is a requirement of the AUSD.

If you are a 5th grade parent or do not wish to take advantage of the class voucher from providing the service of Class Escort, your Class Escort incentive may be applied towards a scholarship for other students.
