Drink to Education!  Angela’s Bistro and Bar is again offering a series of “Friday Night Flights” to benefit the Alameda Education Foundation.  On March 5 (Jim Franz & Jan Nichols) and March 12 (Jeff McNish) from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m., come to Angela’s at 2301 Central Avenue and taste select wines from some of the finest local wineries.  Proceeds these three nights benefit AEF’s many vital programs in art, music, athletics, science and much more that enrich and enhance the learning experiences of Alameda public school students to help prepare them for a bright and successful future.  AEF relies on our Alameda community to support this vital mission.  And sometimes supporting us can be quite enjoyable!  So, come to Angela’s and join us in this special fundraising opportunity!

A screening of the documentary, “Miracle in a Box – a Piano Reborn” by Academy Award winning filmmaker John Korty. Doors open at 3:30 p.m. with a piano recital by Alameda students and the film begins at 4:00 p.m. A Question-and-Answer with the filmmaker and others involved in the project will follow the screening and, for an additional donation, there will be a Meet the Artist reception following that. $20 for students and children 21 and under for the recital, screening and Q & A only
