2011-2012 Woodwind, Brass & Percussion Grades 4th & 5th
The Alameda Education Foundation is proud to offer Beginning & Intermediate Band with Rick Ehrgott for all 4th and 5th grade students attending Alameda public schools.
Enrollment Commences on August 29, 9.00am.
If you don’t not have internet access a paper-based form may be picked up at your school office. Or you may complete a form at the parent orientation meeting. Please note payment is required with registration.
ORIENTATION MEETING
When: Wednesday, September 21st at 3:45 pm. The meeting will take approx. 30 minutes.
Where: Lincoln Middle School, 1250 Fernside Boulevard, Band Room #604
Attendance is encouraged, but not required. If you can not attend the Parent Orientation Meeting, please call Rick Ehrgott at 523-4901 (home, please do not call after 8pm)
Please note this is a year-long program. If your child drops out at any time there are no refunds.
Beginning Band No Experience Required
10/3/11 thru 6/6/12 Mondays & Wednesdays
Woodwinds (Flute, Clarinet, Alto Sax) 3:45-4:15
Brass (Trumpet, Trombone, French horn & Baritone) 4:15-4:45
Percussion – Snare Drum & Xylophone 4:45-5:15*
(students learn both instruments)
*If the brass or percussion classes are too small, they will be combined with one of the other 2 classes. A minimum number of students are required for each section.
Intermediate Band 1 year of Band experience is required; or permission from instructor
10/4/11 thru 6/7/12 Tuesdays & Thursdays 3:45-4:15
Program Location: Lincoln Middle School, 1250 Fernside Boulevard, Band Room #604
Parents are responsible for providing transportation to and from this location.
Program Cost: $180.00 (runs throughout the school year, no class on non-student days)
A limited number of scholarships are available. Please contact Sarah Olaes, sarah@alamedaeducation.org or 510.599.5811 to determine eligibility.
Instruments: Students need to provide instruments regardless of scholarship eligibility
Lessons taught for: Woodwind: Flute, Clarinet, Alto Sax
Brass: Trumpet, Trombone, French Horn, Baritone Horn
Percussion: Snare Drum & Xylophone (students will learn both instruments).
The 1st Day of class is October 3, 2011 for Beginners and October 4, 2011 for Intermediate
