Spanish

Hola estudiantes!

Come one, come all this fall, and learn your numbers, the alphabet, the seasons, and greetings,

and more in Spanish!

ADVANCED Students learn historical facts about Spain, like who was El Cid, and why are the windmills of La Mancha, so famous!

So, don’t be square; be there!

Allegro Piano: All Keyboard Band

Ensemble keyboard playing for beginning and intermediate students.  Students earn note reading and basic music theory.  Emphasis on ensemble playing shows students the importance of rhythm, tempo & pacing in a more tangible way than with solo playing.

Great preparation for band and for any student who has ever had trouble with counting & rhythm. This is a 1.5 hour class. Keyboards are provided for use during class.

Basketball

Introducing AFTER SCHOOL HOOPS®, a weekday afternoon basketball program for aspiring young players. The one hour instructional sessions combine fundamental skills instruction with organized team competition with the goal of providing an enjoyable and educational after school athletic event. Boys and girls of all skill levels are encouraged to join.

Chess

Chess is fun and can be learned quickly and easily. Studies have found that chess helps improve test results in reading, science, and math, and produces growth in critical cognitive skills. Beyond academia, chess influences social behavior including self esteem, respect for others, patience, and good manners. And did we mention: it’s FUN!! Boards and sets are provided for our classes

Mad Science: Crazy Chemworks:

Use your hands as a real Mad Scientist in this whirlwind class on how a lab works! Students will learn to recognize chemical reactions and mix up a few reactive ingredients for some sensational results. Create slime using the Mad Science recipe, and then enter the Slime Olympics to test your polymers. We will melt metal in boiling water and freeze water with just a breath of dry ice! And more.
