Class Descriptions
WoodworkingHave fun creating & designing a woodworking project that you can take home.  You will be proud knowing that you built it yourself.  You will learn how to use tools and machines to build well-crafted projects.  Mr. Kucharski has 22 years of experience teaching students how to use tools safely.  If you are creative & like to build this is the class for you.  CookingThis cooking class will teach basic knife skills, recipe following skills, how to take a recipe to a new level, and ingredient lessons. Kids will learn how to cook meals and make their favorite foods. Recipes that are made throughout the classes will be given to the kids to take home and make for their families.PLEASENOTE: If you child took this class last session Ruth asks that you not sign up again, as there are many students who would like to take this class.  Please email Ruth and ask to be placed on a waitlist and if the class does not fill up she will contact you – thank you for your co-operation! 
 Mandarin ChineseTeaching Chinese phonics, Pinyin, daily conversation & characters using various teaching methods. Classes are fun and allow students to actively participate for developing their interests in Chinese language & cultures   Choral InstructionOYC is a professional, award-winning music education program.  Singers have fun learning songs from a variety of cultures and build music skills including pitch, dynamics and music theory. “Miracle” members from Alameda may perform at community events, e.g., the Oakland Holiday Parade, Alameda Tree Lighting and two OYC concerts.  OYC alumni include LaToya London (American Idol Season 3).

 

AEF Cancellation/Refund policy:

o     If a class is canceled due to low enrollment, participants will receive their full tuition refund.

o     Cancellations initiated by the participant, must be requested a minimum of 5 business days prior to the start of the class.  Credit for the cancelled class will be applied to your AEF account less a $15.00 processing fee.  This request must be made in writing to your school site enrichment coordinator.

o     No refunds are allowed after the first day of class.
