AEF supports teachers and classrooms in several ways!
Adopt A Classroom
The AEF Adopt A Classroom program makes it easy for members of the community to support teachers and students. We direct 100% of each $500 ‘adoption’ donation to the teacher or program leader who uses the funds to purchase critical resources and materials or to fund field trips, assemblies or other learning impact programs.

Teacher Mini-Grants
Enter your projects on http://www.donorschoose.org/teachers. AEF will be reviewing projects on DonorsChoose.org to add to AEF’s Double Your Impact (DYI) page to find other funding so that more projects may be funded. Funding is made possible by AEF’s partnership with Alameda Municipal Power, so requests in the science and technology areas are encouraged. Thank you to the community members that participate in the Power Up 4 Learning Program.
New Teacher Gift Card
Each fall, AEF presents new teachers with school supply gift cards to be used for supplies needed in their new classrooms. Thank you to the Bank of Alameda for their support of this program.
School Supply and Instrument Drive
Each summer AEF runs a School Supply Drive to support students in need at the start of school.
And we are always on the lookout for musical instruments, so if that old saxophone is doing nothing more than gathering dust, please contact AEF and we will make sure it gets in the hands of a deserving student!
Salute to Education
Each spring the Alameda Education Foundation celebrates and honors the vital work that is done in our schools through our Salute to Education event.
Teacher Supply Resources
Looking for “stuff”? The East Bay Depot for Creative Reuse has loads of materials for teachers. Check it out: http://creativereuse.org
Have extra “stuff”? Consider Freecycle at www.freecycle.org or contact a school site directly.
At this time, AEF does not operate a Teacher Supply Store.
