Alameda Education Foundation (AEF) President, Bill Sonneman, gratefully accepts a check from the Alameda Business Network (ABN) from its August 18th mixer at Aroma Restaurant. ABN is a professional organization dedicated to providing business opportunities for its members. ABN holds quarterly mixers that combine business networking with fundraising for local non-profits. According to ABN Officer Kimberly Vaughn, ABN selected AEF as its benefactor because the group “recognizes and understands the importance of having a healthy school system in Alameda for our children. The Alameda School District needs support more than ever and we wanted to bring awareness to the urgency.” AEF will use the funds to support vital programming in Alameda public schools, such as in art, music, drama and athletics.
