All Together Now – 2010

November 2010 was the inaugural event for this fundraiser. On November 12, 2010, close to 400 people packed Auctions by the Bay Theatre. Guests enjoyed food, wine and beer from 26 local restaurants, vintners and brewers. The Sun Kings and Peter Fletcher and His Hand-Picked Oldies Show got people up and dancing. In all, there were over 270 sponsors of this event, from ordinary citizens to regional businesses. After ATN 2010, AEF presented checks totaling over $16,000 to Alameda public schools.

Guests are still sharing with us how much they enjoyed the evening. The Alameda Board of Education president continues to speak passionately about the positive impact of this effort. And we had a lot of fun – take a look at the slideshow below.

We are thrilled to be already planning All Together Now 2011. Save the date! ATN 2011 will be held Thursday, November 10, 2011 at the beautiful Historic Alameda Theatre!  Check back soon here for more details.

Your Funds at Work

While the best things in life may be free, quality programming in Alameda public schools takes money!  Funds raised by “All Together Now 2010” supported vital programs in music, art, and drama in Alameda public schools. At the January 11, 2010 Board of Education meeting, the Alameda Education Foundation presented over $16,000 to arts education programs in all Alameda public schools.

Perhaps you caught Alameda High School’s spring production of “Urinetown.”  The wireless microphones used by the actors were purchased with All Together Now funds. Nea Charter School used funds to purchase flip cameras for their film studios, while Bay Farm Elementary purchased rhythm instruments for their music program. Other schools are applying the funds for instrument repair and replacement, sheet music and playwright purchases, drama production costs, and art supplies. Your support helps with such needs as purchasing guitars for a new guitar class, buying sheet music for a new choir class, replacing a disintegrated stage curtain, supplying materials for the elementary school Art Docent program, and much more.

Please give a big thanks to our 2010 sponsors listed here.

Thank you in your interest in All Together Now funding. Together, we are making a difference!
