CAPOEIRA FOR KIDS
BY SAM BATCHELDER
Capoeira is a Brazilian martial art that incorporates elements of self defense, dance, music, and acrobatics. This class will focus on basic Capoeira movements, balance and coordination, and of course playing lots of Capoeira! No two classes are ever the same, and anyone can learn and have fun with Capoeira. Sam Batchelder has been teaching Capoeira to kids for over 3 years. He is a student of
Mestre Marcelo Perreira, one of the first Capoeira mestres to bring Capoeira to the US.

Developed on the island of Trinidad, steel drums are known for their sweet, melodic sound. You will learn to play different styles of music by combining rhythm skills with melody and harmony. There will be a presentation the last day of class.  Mark Rosenthal has been teaching Steel Pan at Jazz Camp West since 2002, co-directs and teaches at Cazadero Performing Arts Camp.
KIDS TAKE THE STAGE  “SEUSSICAL JR.”
Brought to life, all of our favorite Dr. Seuss characters, including Horton the Elephant, Gertrude McFuzz, Lazy Mayzie, and all of the Whos of Whoville! The score emerges as a Seussian Gumbo of musical styles, ranging from Latin to pop, swing

to gospel, and R&B to funk! So let your toes tap, your fingers snap, and you're imagination run wild for "Oh, the thinks you can think, When you think about Seuss!"
