AEF Beneficiary in Alameda Running Festival, Sept. 16-17!
The Alameda Education Foundation (AEF) is a beneficiary of the Saturday 5K Run/Walk and Fun Run/Walk events! Haight Elementary School students Christina, Laura and Enna put the finishing touches on their italian marbled paper, which was on display display as part of the Alameda Education Foundation’s “Art Across the Island” project. “Art Across the Island” is a two-year project that will feature visual and literary art produced by Alameda public school students. Artwork can be seen at various venues throughout Alameda from October 2017 – April 2018.
Daniel transferred to his new middle school in the beginning of 6th grade. After a few weeks, the AEF Middle School Sports coach, who is also a P.E. teacher at the school, noticed he was hanging by himself and had little enthusiasm. Daniel told the coach he was having a hard time making friends and was feeling “bummed out”. The coach suggested sports as a way for him to get involved.
