Enrichment Policies and Procedures

We expect all parents or guardians to carefully read these policies before enrolling their students in any of AEF’s Enrichment programs.

Participant Behavior

Students are expected to conduct themselves in accordance with behavioral rules outlined in the Student/Parent Handbook provided by AUSD. Any student that fails to follow the student rules or has excessive behavioral issues that continually disrupt other participants will be removed from participation AEF Enrichment programs. There is no refund for such removal.

If a student has special needs that requires assistance during the school day, that student may be able to participate in an AEF class or camp provided they have an assistant with them. Please contact Enrichment@AlamedaEducation.org to discuss your situation.

AEF Registration and Refund Policies

After School Classes

  • Registration closes at 11:59 PM 2 business days prior to start of class.
  • Late enrollments will be accepted as space allows. There is a $20 processing fee for late registrations.
  • If a class is canceled due to low enrollment, participants will receive a full refund.
  • Transfers must be requested a minimum of 7 days prior to the start of class. There is a $20 processing fee for transfers.
  • Cancellations up to 14 days before the class start date can be made via your account on Active Online Camp and Class Manager for a refund back to your original form of payment minus a $20 fee. If you cancel between 14 and 7 days prior to the start of the class via your account on Active Online Camp and Class Manager, credit will be applied to your AEF account minus a $20 processing fee. There is no refund for cancellations within 7 days of the class start date.

Please keep a copy of your registration receipt. There is a $20 fee to provide a copy.

Enrichment Summer Camps

  • If a camp is canceled due to low enrollment, participants will receive a full refund.
  • Cancellations initiated by the participant must be requested 21 days prior to the start of the camp, and are subject to a $50 cancellation fee.
  • Cancellation requests made 15-20 days prior to the camp start date will be subject to a 50% cancellation fee.
  • Transfer requests must be made a minimum of 14 days prior to the first day of camp. There is a $20 processing fee.
  • There are NO refunds within 14 days of the camp start date
  • All cancellation requests must be made in writing by emailing enrichment@alamedaeducation.org.

Scholarships for Enrichment and Summer Camp programs are available as follows:

  • Scholarships are available to qualified AUSD or Alameda public charter school students.
  • Student/family is enrolled in a food assistance program – 90%
  • Student/family qualifies for assistance under the McKinney-Vento Act, Alameda Point Collaborative, or similar program or is experiencing particular hardship – 100%;
  • For parents or guardians requesting assistance but who are not covered under the above conditions, please contact AEF at Enrichment@AlamedaEducation.org.

Upon completion of the application form you must scan/email proof that your student is enrolled in a food assistance program. The scholarship will not be approved until proof is received. You MUST send within 48 hours of completing this form. We will not follow up and ask for the proof. It is your responsibility to get this to us. Scan and email it to Enrichment@AlamedaEducation.org.

Photos used for Website/Class Publicity

Photos taken during class sessions may be published on our website, Facebook page, marketing materials and/or fliers unless a written no-photo request is emailed to Enrichment@AlamedaEducation.org.

Communications

The primary form of communication will be email. If a change is made to a class on the same day of the class, we will text or call the primary contact on the registration form.  Please sure that you provide your current email and cell phone number when you register and if any changes occur during the season you must update the Alameda Education Foundation by emailing Enrichment@AlamedaEducation.org.
