Dribble, Pass, Shoot!
2025-2026 Girls Basketball Season
AEF offers a Girls Middle School Basketball program that runs from November to January each school year. This program is open to students who are enrolled in Alameda Unified and Charter public middle schools (grades 6 - 8). Student-Athletes play for their school team. Please note that Middle School Sports is a competitive league and not everyone who tries out will make the team. Team selections are made in consultation with site administrators with a focus on inclusivity, equity, and considerations of who would most benefit from team participation.

All players must register with AEF Sports!
The deadline to register is Monday, November 10, 2025. You must request a scholarship prior to registration. Please reach out to [email protected] if you are having trouble or need to request a scholarship!
Team Selection
- School sites will announce team tryouts. Please check with your coach or school for tryout information.
- Parents/guardians must complete and sign a Liability Waiver (downloadable PDF) and turn it in to the coach before tryouts.
- If selected for the team, coaches will provide student-athletes with a Participant Letter giving them details about registering online on the AEF website.
- All registrations are online through AEF’s online registration system. Please do not register without receiving a Participation Letter from the coach. There will be a $20 fee to cancel a registration if you register without being accepted to the team.
- Please be sure to register during the registration period that is on the Participation Letter. All athletes must be registered before they will be allowed to play in a league match.
- 2025-2026 non-refundable participation fee is $150 per student per sport. Scholarships are available and need to be requested before you register. More about scholarships here.
