Equitable Opportunities to Succeed
Audrey Sigur, works with 6th and 7th grade students at Encinal Junior High School who are participating in the Office of Equity Program. Audrey is an Educational Equity and Family Engagement Coordinator for the Alameda Unified School District.
Ms. Sigur requested books and classroom tools for students who need additional support and a more equitable opportunity to learn and succeed.
Here’s what she wrote to AEF: “Just wanted to send over a few pictures of how the grant has blessed the Scholars far. The fidgets are definitely a big hit! They are extremely helpful in assisting with the anxiety they often times face within the classroom. They were extremely excited to have the representation of themselves in the wall art/books, colored pencils, etc. The superhero stickers will be used to decorate their journals when we begin our groups next week! I have also used the funds for healthy snacks so they have the fuel to be focused and successful. 😊 Again, a million thanks to you for the grant!!!”
