Alameda Municipal Power a Valued Partner in Technology Support

The pandemic and remote teaching and learning made teachers, students and families painfully aware of just how vital technology is to student learning. No longer just optional, today technology is a crucial interface for learning.

Thanks to support from AMP and the Power Up For Learning program, AEF was able to step in and address some of the most pressing needs, including purchasing headsets for 2,000 low-income students so they could more actively participate in Zoom lessons. Since schools opened up again last spring, AEF has purchased over 100 headsets to aid teachers in outdoor classrooms. In all, we have spent almost $30,000 in PUFL funds on these needs over the last year and continue to receive requests this Fall for support.

Unfortunately, Covid has not yet permitted a return to our in-person Robotics program, but we hope that will change by spring 2022.

It’s easy to support this vital program! Go to our Power Up for Learning page for more information or sign up for the program online.
