A visit to Maryln Mori’s studio will inspire students to become botanists as well as artists as they discover beauty in sprouting onions, in the spiky surface of a pineapple and on the inside of a lemon. They’ll see that fruit and vegetables become more interesting as they change. In the art project video, students will learn to make any food that they’re drawing more unique. Using an apple as an example, the animators use detail, composition (where you place things in a painting) and volume to make a piece of fruit that demands attention. Colored pencils work best for this project.
