All the fun happens while we are immersed in Mandarin! Our creative Chinese classes are engaging and educational lessons. We combine Chinese language learning with hands-on activities. We believe in learning language through meaningful content. Our storybooks are not only entertaining, but also serve as an excellent platform to reinforce vocabulary, sentence structure, overall comprehension, and listening skills. The students actively participate in discussions related to the story.
Each week we read a theme-based storybook, and do worksheets and activities based on them, like singing songs, acting, playing games, doing arts and crafts, cooking, and writing. The activities are not only incredibly fun but also allow the students to apply their language skills in a practical context.
Our students develop lifelong interests in Mandarin Chinese, and continue to show enthusiasm and dedication to learning, which is truly valuable. See April’s programs and testimonials at EnjoyChineseLA.com.

Chibi (little) Judo helps children grow in wonderful ways. As we jump, run and roll, we develop balance, coordination and confidence. And we have fun! We start out learning our names in Japanese then do movement exercises, tumbling and some simple judo techniques that teach us to fall safely. We place a strong emphasis on culture so everyone plays games, sing songs and speaks the language of Japan. We learn to 'nete' (lie down) and to 'tonde' (leap) like a 'raion' (lion). In our positive learning environment we bow politely to Sensei and to one another. At Hanabi, respect and discipline comes as naturally as smiling.

Hajime! (Begin!) Judo establishes a strong base of judo technique, culture, and character. As we jump, run, and roll we develop balance, coordination and confidence! And we have fun! We start out learning our names in Japanese then do movement exercises and some simple judo techniques that teach us to fall safely. We place a strong emphasis on culture so everyone speaks the language of Japan. We learn to 'nete' (lie down) and to 'tonde' (leap) like a 'raion' (lion). Judo allows a smaller person to control an opponent bigger and stronger than themselves. We learn to hold a person down with 'kesa-gatame' (scarf hold) and we practice throws where our opponent can be flipped upside-down – on Sensei. Every class finishes with games that develop physical coordination, balance and laughter. We sing in Japanese about inspiration and bow to each other respectfully. Then we say 'arigato' (thank you). Respect and discipline are as much a part of Hanabi as smiling.

Design, prototype, and test solutions to real engineering challenges. Instead of step-by-step instructions, we encourage students to test their own ideas, using building tools like LEGOs, 3D pens, and cardboard. Each class features progressively challenging levels of a distinct engineering problem — like building domes that can withstand asteroids, designing air cannons to launch circus performers, or creating air filters to remove debris.
