AEF Welcomes New Board Members!

AEF welcomes four new members to its Board of Directors: Nadia Bueno, Jennifer Bullock, Sahru Keiser, and Page Tomblin.

Nadia Bueno is the Deputy Director of CALICO (Child Abuse, Listening, Interviewing, and Coordination Center) who also has extensive volunteer experience in governance and service, particularly in areas of social justice. As an AEF Board Member, Bueno hopes to “advocate for the expansion and enhancement of its programs to reach even more students and address the diverse needs of our community”.

Jennifer Bullock has held multiple Board officer roles within PTA over the last 10 years, in addition to running an online media business co-owned with her husband. Her own children’s experiences with programs AEF has provided made her a “big fan of AEF” and as a Board Member she will support AEF’s investment “in the support and success of all students.”

Sahru Keiser has a background in public health and health justice and currently works at UCSF in the School of Nursing as a project manager of academic research. She believes that “educational access and attainment is a piece of health justice”. As an AEF Board Member, Keiser looks forward to “helping all children in Alameda have access to resources they need to succeed.”

Page Tomblin has over 25 years of policy, communications, data analysis, and program development expertise in early childhood, healthcare, and social services programming. She is currently an independent consultant. She also has extensive school and community volunteer experience. Her thorough understanding of state policy decisions and their impact on local schools will help inform her work with AEF and she is eager to “be a part of AEFs efforts to continue to center DEI in (our) work and practices.”
