Alameda Education Foundation Announces Winners of the 2017 Jack Capon Award
The Alameda Education Foundation (AEF) is pleased to announce the recipients of the annual Jack Capon award. The award is given to 8th graders who participate in AEF’s Middle School Sports program and is based on sportsmanship, academic achievement and being a caring, committed team member. Congratulations to the following student-athletes:

Aila Owens – ACLC
Jaden Johnson and Mia Brazo – Bay Farm
Brian Oduor and Sonia Randall – Encinal Jr. Jets
Hudson Stebbins and Mia Wettergren – Lincoln Middle School
Omari Diltz – Nea
Nathaniel Yee and Jordyn Moore – Wood Middle School
The award is given in honor of the late Jack Capon who began the middle school sports program in Alameda and the Alameda Special Olympics. He was the creator of the motor fitness program used by many kindergartens as well as the author of several books on fitness.
Awards were presented to the students during their 8th grade promotion ceremonies.
