Congratulations Encinal and Lincoln Volleyball

Congratulations to Encinal Jr. Jets and Lincoln Lions for their AEF Middle School Sports Coed Volleyball Championships!

In Division I action, the Encinal Jr. Jets defended their title by defeating the Wood Beavers on October 24th 2-1 (25-15, 23-25, 15-13). In Division II action on November 14th, it was the Lincoln Lions over Encinal 2-0 (25-20, 25-14).

Fall volleyball included 10 teams and 140 student-athletes representing all seven public middle schools in Alameda. Students learned valuable life skills about teamwork and goal-setting. AEF’s Sports program is not like other youth leagues in that we include behavioral and academic tie-ins to support students’ developmental and academic growth as well. As one student from Bay Farm told us, “Thank you so much. Without you guys, I wouldn’t have experienced being on a team. You guys don’t know how much I am grateful.”

Girls basketball is next with games beginning Nov. 28th.
