Fall Sports Wrap Up

The Asteroids Cross Country team just finished their final meet of the season and we’re so proud of all our runners. We had a very competitive team this year with many of our runners placing in the top ten finishers at every meet this season. Thank you to our coaches and the fabulous Asteroid families for all your support. We hope all the Asteroids enjoyed their time on the team and look forward to seeing them back out for our Track & Field season in the spring.

Following the final meet, a couple Asteroid parents shared some sweet words about how much their student-athletes enjoyed their time this season.

We gently pushed [our daughter] to participate in the beginning because we thought she would enjoy it, but she was a bit hesitant, but after about 3 days, she was hooked! She made so many good friends, enjoyed her time at practice and by the end of the season really enjoyed the meets as well.”

It was so wonderful seeing all the kids be so supportive of each other at meets and it was just such an absolute positive experience.”

Thank you again to our incredible coaches, Peter, Mike, and Don for helping to make this season a great one!

Our Co-ed Volleyball season concluded with some exciting Championship matches. Congratulations to our D2 Champs the Lincoln Lions and our D1 Champs the Encinal Jr. Jets. This season was incredible from start to finish, athletes brought their A-game to every match and the energy in the gym felt like every match was a Championship one. We are so proud of all our athletes, it was truly such a pleasure to watch each one of them shine this season.

As with any competitive sport, we know sometimes the season doesn’t end the way an athlete hoped but I do want to commend everyone for maintaining good sportsmanship this season regardless of the game outcome. Part of the lesson we hope to teach our athletes is that sometimes things don’t go our way and that’s okay. As long as we maintain a positive attitude and play our very best, we can call that a win. And as an observer, I saw every single team improve over the course of the season and that is what truly matters in the end.

Thank you to our coaches for all their hard work this season making sure our athletes had a positive experience. And thank you to our families for coming out to support their teams. We love to see our stands full of enthusiastic spectators!

And we’ll see you in a couple weeks for the first girl’s basketball game!
