First Time for Two Sports Happening at Once

by Lily Gates-Tilles, AEF Sports Program Manager

The 2025 fall sports season is in full swing with TWO sports happening simultaneously for the first time!

The Asteroids Cross Country season has been very exciting so far with our athletes competing in three meets already and one more coming up. The season has been very competitive, and our Asteroids have performed with incredible passion and endurance. In our most recent meet, we took first place in the 6th grade girls race and had runners place in the top 10 finishers in the 7th and 8th grade girls race, 6th grade boys race, and 8th grade boys race.

In fact, our 6th grade girl runner has finished first in ALL her races so far this season! We can’t wait to watch our Asteroids finish out their season strong.

The CoEd Volleyball season has been equally thrilling and it’s been such a joy watching all the student-athletes bring their A-game to every match. The regular season games have been so full of energy you’d think you were watching a championship match! Special shout out to our ACLC/Nea coach Ebonejha Watts, who as a first time volleyball coach, has led her team in back-to-back victories with only one loss so far this season. It has been so special to watch the team come together as one and improve with each game. Our players have been very supportive of each other, and our spectators have been amazing too! We are so thankful to have such a wonderful middle school sports community that we hope to grow and nurture into the future.

Thank you to all those that have been coming out to the games to cheer on your school team. There’s still time to catch a regular season game and/or secure your tickets for the playoffs so head to GoFan or our Middle School Sports page for more information or to buy tickets or season passes.

And as one season ends another begins! Coming up next we have Girls Basketball! Reach out to your school site’s athletic director to see when tryouts will be.
