Meet Our New Board Member – Jose Alvarez

AEF welcomes Jose Alvarez to its Board of Directors. Jose brings experience working on issues relating to the Alameda Unified School District including as Chairperson for the Oversight Committee on Measure A (for tax compliance), as Chairperson of the Maya Lin School Site Council, and as a member of ALCANCE (which promotes a positive and successful educational experience for Latino students in Alameda). Jose, a Manager at H&R Block, looks forward to bringing his experience in marketing and public relations, as well as organizational and strategic planning skills, to make a positive impact on public school students in Alameda. Jose says he ‘loves finding ways to help in the community’ and we are very happy he has found a home on our Board.
