Painter, dancer and ceramicist, Sharon Virtue talks about a work from her Bright Worlds series. Her circles, spirals and link-shapes are each filled with texture and vary in size, color and thickness of line to create a work of art that is luminous. In the art project video, students are shown how to draw overlapping circles and rectangles in a combination of warm and cool colors. Filling in these shapes with squiggles, geometric designs and color creates art that pops off the page. Crayons are perfect for this project.
