Standing with the Alameda Unified School District

With the recent news out of Washington D.C., AEF stands with Alameda Unified School District (AUSD) as we navigate the concerns raised by Superintendent Pasquale Scuderi about the potential dismantling of the U.S. Department of Education. While the full impact of this proposal remains uncertain, we share the superintendent’s worry about the disruption it could cause—especially for our most vulnerable students.

AEF plays a crucial role in supporting AUSD’s mission to provide an equitable education and opportunities for all students. With the possibility of changes in federal funding, we remain committed to ensuring that every student in Alameda has the resources they need to thrive, particularly those from historically under served communities.

We are also mindful of the volatility that many districts, students and families across the country are facing. The potential loss or delay of vital resources could impact countless students, and we stand with them as we all work through these challenges.

In times of uncertainty, our community has always stepped up. From our schools and families to our local businesses and nonprofits, we know that Alameda will come together to ensure our students are supported. AEF, alongside AUSD, will continue to advocate for the resources and stability our students deserve, and we are confident that, as a community, we will overcome these challenges together. Thank you for your steadfast support.
