In our effort to serve as a critical bridge toward equitable and inclusive educational outcomes for Alameda TK-12 public school students, AEF focuses our programs in three main areas:
Art, enrichment, and sports programming
Programs that engage students and augment the educational experience.
Social-emotional supports
Programs for AUSD students and staff.
Equity-centered support of educational programs and student needs
What Students and Teachers Are Saying About AEF
In my position as a McKinney-Vento liaison, I am often times a family’s last resort when they are looking for resources or supplies. With the support of AEF and the mini grant program, I was able to provide numerous families with personal hygiene supplies when their needs were immediate. It has been a little ray of light to be able to say “yes I can help with that right away”!

Thank you for your Teacher Mini Grant! AEF has made classroom activities happen that would not otherwise occur for our wonderfully diverse Title 1 identified school. Through your generosity, learning is not just more attainable but more fun. These are the experiences that we will remember and appreciate…and most of the supplies will positively affect my and other classrooms for years to come. AEF staff are the quiet but the most appreciated heroes to our learning and wonderfully diverse Alame… Read more

I wanted to reach out to let you know that we have really enjoyed our experience in the gymnastics class at Otis and would love to see it offered again. The teacher was incredibly experienced and worked really well with the energy of the kids (my son has a lot of it). Her class has been a highlight for my son’s week and I’m sad to see it end tomorrow. Thanks for providing these enrichment opportunities to the Otis community!
Positive Enrichment Experience
Thank you, Vicki and AEF, for supporting our CTE teachers! I appreciate your willingness to help so many of our teachers do innovative projects.

We encouraged him to run a little further, a little outside his comfort level, and he made it into championship meet due to lack of enough participation in his grade level – … Read more

Thank you for supporting Encinal students! Shedy is a low-income, first generation student who most likely would NOT have applied to college were it not for your financial assistance with his applications. We so appreciate all that you do for the Alameda schools!

I wanted to thank you for the most generous of support this year for both myself and my wonderful students. Remote learning and teaching can be a challenge for students and teachers alike, but the resources AEF has provided has made it far more doable and meaningful. Read more
