Celebrating Lunar New Year

Alameda Education Foundation has the perfect art activity for the Lunar New Year (Feb. 10-17)! AEF’s Art Changes artist, Bill Jeng, grew up celebrating New Year by participating as a Lion Dancer. It’s natural that many of Bill’s paintings are of young Lion Dancers celebrating their heritage in this athletically demanding dance. After you watch Bill’s short video, make your own mask inspired by the Lion Dance costumes. You’ll need oil pastels and watercolor for this project.
