A Message from AEF’s New Executive Director
Greetings!
I am thrilled to join the Alameda Education Foundation as the new Executive Director. With Vicki’s impending retirement, I know I have big shoes to fill, and I appreciate that she has offered a generous overlap period as I learn the numerous facets of AEF’s work. I look forward to meeting with many of our AEF community members, partners and supporters over the coming weeks as I step into this role.
As a long-time Alameda resident, parent of two AUSD students, and active volunteer in our schools, I’ve experienced firsthand the incredible spirit of our community. From my work with local PTAs to volunteering with organizations like the Alameda Warming Shelter and FAAS, I’ve seen how much we can accomplish when we come together to support our children, families, and schools. I am excited to continue building these connections and working alongside all of you to create even more opportunities for our students to thrive.
The Alameda Education Foundation has a well-earned reputation for providing essential support to the Alameda Unified School District through enrichment programs, sports, teacher grants and mental health initiatives. Backed by an excellent board, dedicated staff, and a network of engaged supporters, AEF plays a vital role in ensuring that all students have access to the resources and opportunities they need to succeed. It’s an honor to join such an impactful organization.
With over 20 years of experience in nonprofit management roles, I’ve learned that strong relationships and a sense of shared purpose are at the heart of meaningful work. Whether it’s collaborating with staff, partnering with donors, or engaging with the broader community, I’m committed to fostering a culture of connection, celebration, and shared vision. I look forward to rolling up my sleeves and working with you to build on AEF’s legacy of enriching lives. Together, we can make a lasting difference for Alameda’s students, families and schools.
