Art Changes Student Exhibit Opens May 6
AEF and Rhythmix are announcing the 2023 Art Changes student exhibition opening:
Saturday, May 6 from 2 – 4pm.
Rhythmix Cultural Works

The exhibit runs through June 24 and includes work by four Art Changes artists: blacksmith Celeste Flores, abstract painter Ken Gotuaco, children’s book illustrator Constance Moore and ‘en plein air’ painter Claire Lau.

Lincoln Roars to Victory in Girls Basketball Championships
The Lincoln Middle School Lions roared to a double victory by clinching the Alameda Education Foundation’s (AEF) Girls Basketball championships in Division I and II. Capping an undefeated season, the Lincoln DI team faced off against the Wood Middle School Beavers on Jan. 24th to secure the championship by a score of 42 to 19. The prior week, Wood had narrowly defeated the Academy of Alameda to earn a chance to face the Lions.

New Inspirational Student Art on Display Across Alameda
Students are finding inspiration from books, famous artists, cultural inspirations, and even science in their artwork currently on display at Alameda public libraries, Books Inc. and Lilac Dress Boutique in Alameda. For example, an Edison 4th grade class looked at scientific photos taken under the microscope and viewed work by contemporary artists who incorporate science, medicine and the microscopic world in their art.
