I Am My Ancestors’ Wildest Dream

In honor of Black History Month, AUSD's Office of Equity has released a powerful and moving video, I Am My Ancestors' Wildest Dream. In it, we learn about the Black experience - the struggles and the celebrations. "The Black experience is undeniably different from everyone else," explains Shanti Lair-Croom, AUSD's Department of Equity and Family Engagement Coordinator and the video's Executive Producer. "That is why when we speak, it's felt...My ancestors planted seeds so I could grow, and every day I live in my purpose to plant some more. Walking firmly in the present as I hold one hand in the past and stretch out the other to grip the future so we all move together."

AEF is honored to sponsor the production of this video and to share it with you. We also wish to thank Shaun Daniels, Castaway Creative, and Students on the Set for their hard work and creativity.

The video is about 10 minutes, but it is worth it. Because the more we know about each other, the more connected we become. Learn more about Shaunti and the making of this video here.
