Thank You AEF for Your Generous Support

I wanted to thank you for the most generous of support this year for both myself and my wonderful students. Remote learning and teaching can be a challenge for students and teachers alike, but the resources AEF has provided has made it far more doable and meaningful.

I wanted to thank you for the most generous of support this year for both myself and my wonderful students. Remote learning and teaching can be a challenge for students and teachers alike, but the resources AEF has provided has made it far more doable and meaningful. Acclaimed art books from diverse backgrounds infused representation of often marginalized people benefited and inspired all students – and is obviously most timely. For instance, just this week, we had the opportunity to study Frida Kahlo and use our class set of oil pastels – some had never touched one before and all loved the brilliance that medium offers. They were thrilled and the products were both beautiful and memorable. The amplifiers let us reach all our students calmly and clearly, the outdoor whiteboards allows safety, novelty and turns a patio into a motivating outdoor environment to share student thinking in sunshine (or fog). All these resources will be appreciated far beyond this school year – a great investment in our Alameda community.

On behalf of my wonderfully diverse students and Love community, I thank you again for your support, tireless effort, and time. It makes all the difference at our blooming Title 1 school. Please enjoy some of our joy and learning with the pictures attached – all thanks to AEF!
