College Finances 101

Free for Alameda Public High School Students and their Parents or Guardians!

Student loan debt now tops $1.2 trillion dollars with 71% of students graduating from college in debt. The average student loan debt is $35,200 per student. What’s worse is that studies show about half of those graduates are shocked at the amount of debt they racked up while in school.

Don’t let this happen to you and your student!  Join the Alameda Education Foundation for College Finances 101. This workshop will guide you in making sound financial decisions from planning for college to understanding your college financial package.

Topics include:

  • College Selection and Earning Potential
  • What is my true cost of attending college?
  • Understanding the difference between loan types.
  • What is my true cost of borrowing and how can I lower it?
  • What is my Return on Investment?

Come to either of these two sessions:

Saturday, March 15th, 10:00 AM – 11:30 AM –  Encinal High School cafeteria

Saturday, March 22nd, 10:00 AM – 11:30 AM – Alameda High School, Little Theater
