Ready for a New School Year with School Supplies

On August 11 2026, Alameda Education Foundation (AEF) arrived at Alameda Point Collaborative to distribute new backpacks and school supplies to students. And students were pretty excited to see us!

Every year, AEF’s school supply drive ensures that all AUSD students are equipped for success on day one of school. We provide approximately 1,000 backpacks and schools supply kits to students at AUSD schools receiving Title I funding, such as Love Elementary,

Fall Enrichment Classes – Registration is Now Open!

Our After School Enrichment program provides enjoyable and educational classes that students love! With small class sizes, we focus on helping students discover new skills while staying active, engaged, and having a great time. These enrichment classes welcome both AUSD and charter school students and include a variety of exciting options like Pickleball, Magic, Chess, STEM, Coding, Art, Carpentry, and this year’s new offerings: Ceramics, Chinese and Hindi!

Welcome New Board Members!

AEF is thrilled to welcome four new Board members to start off the 2026-27 school year! Joining us will be Alameda High School Spanish Teacher – Eric Lowy; founder of Mayannand, LLC (an after school STEM class provider) –  Susan Tom; the owner of Island Savoy Market in Alameda – Michael Stevens and Associated Press Reporter and Video Journalist – Terry Chea.

Maya Lin Students Experience Shakespeare

Students Experience Shakespeare

Because of a grant from AEF (and the school’s Dads Club), all the students at Maya Lin Elementary were able to see a professional, age-appropriate production of Shakespeare’s play Julius Ceasar, performed by SF Shakes, a San Francisco-based theater company. Every Maya Lin student, regardless of their family’s ability to pay for theater tickets, had the opportunity to have a front-row seat at a world-class cultural experience!
