AEF is pleased to announce the hiring of Matt Scully as the AEF Sports Director. Matt comes to AEF after coaching two years for Encinal Jr. Jets basketball and brings a background in youth coaching, nonprofit work, computer systems and Human Resources. Matt will be taking over the running of AEF’s Middle School Sports program, which serves approximately 700 6th – 8th graders from Alameda’s public middle schools with year-round after school competitive sports leagues.
AEF welcomes four new members to its Board of Directors: Nadia Bueno, Jennifer Bullock, Sahru Keiser, and Page Tomblin.
Nadia Bueno is the Deputy Director of CALICO (Child Abuse, Listening, Interviewing, and Coordination Center) who also has extensive volunteer experience in governance and service, particularly in areas of social justice. As an AEF Board Member, Bueno hopes to “advocate for the expansion and enhancement of its programs to reach even more students and address the diverse needs of our community”.
