Bill’s Word: Rock and Roll for Education

Dear Friend,

This Saturday, please join AEF, The California Beach Boys and Alameda South Shore Center for an evening summertime concert in the South Shore Center Court from 5 to 7 PM and help support Alameda students!

School supplies for Alameda’s community wide school supply drive, Equipped 4 Success, will be collected. In addition, 100% of wine sales from the concert will benefit the drive.

You will also have the opportunity to enter a raffle for a chance to win dinner for two at one of the Bay Area’s hottest new restaurants, Trabocco, located at South Shore Center, and a pair of super cool “Beats by Dr. Dre” portable speakers! A value of over $250! You even get a Summer Beats tee shirt just for entering the raffle. There will be a winner selected at each Summer Beats Concert (July 19, Aug. 2, Aug. 16, Aug. 30). A huge thank you to Jamestown/Alameda South Shore Center and Trabocco for their generosity in donating these fabulous prizes!

Equipped 4 Success supports 1,000 homeless, formerly homeless and very low income Kindergarten – 12th grade students with new backpacks and grade-appropriate school supplies that they need to be ready to learn on the first day of school.

Can’t come by Saturday? Then support our drive with a financial donation online by clicking here or by mailing a check to AEF, PO Box 1363, Alameda, CA 94501 (please be sure to indicate E4S in the memo). We are halfway to our goal of supporting 1,000 students, but we need your help to support all our students!

We’ll be rocking and rolling all summer with concerts on August 2nd, 16th and 30th in addition to this Saturday. Come enjoy the music, donate school items, have a glass of wine, enter a raffle and support the drive!

Sincerely,

Bill Sonneman, President
