Supporting Student Success: November 2015

Supporting Student Success: November 2015

Message from the AEF president

Dear Friend,

The AEF is the midst of Adopt A Classroom season. Twice last month I presented 50 adoptions. What fun it is to surprise a teacher with $500. New teachers are surprised beyond belief, especially teachers who come from other districts who always tell me this never occurred in the their last district. Many teachers who have been adopted before see me at the door and the smiles they give me are priceless.

We at the Alameda Education Foundation wish the best for all our Alameda students. Our mission to support student success will continue throughout the school year. There are AEF programs that can assist students from kindergarten through 12th grade.

Park Street Businesses Adopt Local Classrooms

$1500 Distributed via the Alameda Education Foundation Adopt A Classroom Program

When customers shopped at Park Street businesses last October, they not only purchased crafts and home products or enjoyed food and beverages, they helped out Alameda classrooms thanks to the Park Street Business District’s “Shop for your Schools” fundraiser on October 22, 2013.

Park Street merchants collectively joined together to donate a portion of their sales that day with the goal of raising $1500 to benefit Alameda classrooms through the Alameda Education Foundation’s (AEF) Adopt A Classroom program.
