AEF Updates

Introducing AEF Online Summer Camps!   Due to concerns about the coronavirus, AEF will be holding virtual camps this summer.  Our one-week camps  begin June 15.   A full program schedule will be ready for viewing and registration by May 27 on our Summer Camps website page.

Alameda Education Foundation Announces Winners of the 2017 Jack Capon Award

The Alameda Education Foundation (AEF) is pleased to announce the recipients of the annual Jack Capon award.  The award is given to 8th graders who participate in AEF’s Middle School Sports program and is based on sportsmanship, academic achievement and being a caring, committed team member.  Congratulations to the following student-athletes:

Salute to Education to Honor Alameda Innovative School Programs on April 21st

Lum Elementary 3rd grade teachers recognize that some students have the “wiggles” and Lum has implemented a flexible seating environment, including stand up desks and stools that let students wiggle while they sit; these flexible learning spaces accommodate the individuality of Lum students.

Encinal Jr. and Sr. High School teacher Paul Igaz has created a multi-media program where students make films and get to act like an adult behind the camera and play like a kid in front of it.
